Teaser.

Here is a quick picture of part of my weekend. It's kind of like a teaser
I'm anticipating posting a weekend wrap up tomorrow with some more pretty pictures and stories from my weekend.

In other news, I've finished two of my four assessments in the last two days. Not a bad effort! Two more to go and then..

Holidays.
I'm so excited!

Absence.

This is just a quick update to say hi! I'm back from my weekend away with no Internet. I've got a ton of photos to sort through, a buttload of uni work to get done (three assessments due this week, eeek!) and I haven't washed my hair for at least three days. This is going to be a hard week. I am thinking I'm not going to get much sleep.

If everything goes according to plan I'm hoping I might be able to post up some more pictures in the next few days. *Fingers crossed*

Weekend Wrap Up.

The end of the weekend has come again. This time it's bringing the first of my 21st parties closer, one being next weekend! I will get to see all of the family and have a super fun combined 21st (me) and 30th (my sister). So that is something to look forward to.

This weekend was pretty good. I had some friends stay over Friday night, who I don't get to see very often and that was nice. I also got a fair amount of work done on my report that is not due until a week Friday. My aim was to get it finished before I leave for home on Thursday. I also went to a second hand event thingy on Sunday with some other friends. I scored a pair of $5 shoes that had only been worn once.

Here are some pretty pictures to look at.

Home alone on a Saturday night. Laptop, blanket and tv remote was all I needed.

My new $5 shoes.

My outfit that I wore on Sunday. I really liked it and I'm going to wear it next weekend, in front of people that haven't seen it yet. Hehe.

How can a weed be such a nice colour? They should be something dull like a gross brown. Or something.

Cloud watching in the backyard.

Working on (and finishing off) a custom order! This is what it looked like when I was finished.

And that's another weekend all done and finished! On the agenda for this week is to finish my report, and start working on some new bags for the shop. Ooo this is going to be a fun week!

Something Different.

Sometimes it's nice to do something different. I find it very easy to get 'stuck in a rut' so to speak. I found myself admiring light blue and green nail polish that I was seeing everywhere, on other blogs, in magazines...but I'm been really restrictive on myself, trying to save money for the trip to New Zealand and all.

BUT, yesterday when I was food shopping with Grant I thought I would have a look for some. I was really happy when I found that the pharmacy had a massive tub of nail polish for only $2ish each! I got the colour above and also a lighter, more greener green.

As soon as I painted my nails I felt so good! It's strange that something as small as painting my nails and different colour made me feel so, well different. I felt a bit me-er if that makes sense?

In other news, yesterday I took some time to myself and quilted up my cushion cover that I've been working on for a while. Initially I was apprehensive because I wasn't sure what sort of pattern I wanted to do and I didn't know how bright my thread colours were. But I powered on through and this is what it came out like.

I ended up doing three diamonds on each line and I alternated using orange and yellow thread. I love it! I'm sure that its going to sit on my chair now for another few weeks while I work on other projects though.

Now I'm going to move my sewing machine into the lounge room in front of the heater and work on a custom bag while I watch tv. I'm thinking of catching up on some taped tv shows and then maybe watch a movie.

Inspiration Friday

Yay its Friday again! Well Friday night, which means Saturday is tomorrow, and then Sunday and Monday and back to uni on Tuesday. Gosh the weekends fly away quick =)

It's only a short inspiration post this Friday...not because I didn't find much stuff (how could I not, there is soooooooooooooo much stuff out there!) but because I love the things I'm going to show you and I didn't want to spoil the moment with extra things to distract you! So here we go!

Swirling Vines, personalised large latte mug and saucer by AmongstLovelyThings

Seattle, limited edition print by Matte Stephens

Let me just say OMG I love the work of Matte Stephens! Everything about his work is super fantastic. I am going to save up and get one of his works after my trip to New Zealand, this one is my current favourite. If the print run hasn't run out when I go to buy one I'll for sure get this one!

The last two images were too small for me to post, they came out all blurry and not cool at all. So I'll just put the links up for them! Check out this one and this one and also this feature about the artist. I love these features!

I am definitely a sucker for a teapot, and the one above was no exception! It reminded me of the scene in Beauty and the Beast when all the kitchen cutlery was dancing and singing.

So I told you this wasn't a long post. I guess I feel kinda bad about posting so many photos and images lately...but not bad enough to stop doing it! Ha. I'm really enjoying taking photos again, but I'm sure the boyfriend isn't because he likes to borrow my camera to take photos of cars.

Any who, I'm off to go and do some other stuff. I'll be back tomorrow with some pictures of something I've been working on for a while. And more writing too!

Photo Heavy.

The last few blog posts have been very photo heavy. And this one is no exception! Haha. I'm trying to take more photographs these days, despite the truckloads of uni work and bag making that is going on. These are the photos I took today.

Some things I can see from my backyard, my veggies that I picked today, milo and sprinkle muffins in uber cute patty pans from my mum's shop and Ned.

Just a quick note, I don't want to dwell on my uni work (it seems like all I talk about lately!) but I presented today. And now its the weekend!

I have some small projects planned to do this weekend, as well as some very needed plant watering. I possibly might even do some gardening if the weather is good.

=)

I'm holding out for the weekend.

The first half of the weekend went very quickly it seemed. I didn't manage to do much other than my major uni assessment, fitting as it was pretty major!

I managed to snap some photos (part of my weekly goal). They (I hope) illustrate what I've been doing the last few days.

Washing my clothes for my presentation, checking on the progress of the orange tree, cutting cardboard, gluing cardboard, re-cutting the cardboard because I measured it wrong, you get the idea.

The last three photos are my finished model. I was very happy to hand it in, but it still is stressful. To think that I've spent 10ish weeks on this design and once I've 'finished' I think of something else I could have done, or changed or added.

I also found out that I'm presenting tomorrow morning (eek) to a few tutors and Peter Stutchbury (super eek). It will be good to get it over and done with so to speak, and then I can focus on getting a report for another subject out of the way.

The next few weeks are going to be super busy, this weekend is already all booked up with uni work, seeing friends, working on a new custom bag and some odds and ends. Next weekend is my combined 21st and 30th party with my sister. And then the week after that I have three separate assessments due in three consecutive days. Sigh. Very, very busy until mid June. And then....

Relax.

I'm especially holding out for that.
=)

Weekend Wrap Up.

The end of the weekend is not always a good thing. Especially when it brings a 40% assessment closer! I spent all day Friday and Saturday working on my drawings, which I then printed out today. Phew. Now I have until Wednesday to make a super awesome model to go with it.

I wasn't the best of documenting the weekend but I still managed to take some photos to show of my weekend.

Hot milos under blankets with Grant

Working on these envelope clutches with upcycled vinyl. Which I then finished and listed in the shop today.

I paired the brown vinyl with coordinating colours and retro patterns. I really love them! I also added a wristlet to make them easy to hold/carry as well as three card sized pockets inside so you don't need to carry a wallet if you don't want!

Something else I did today was pick up this awesome mannequin that I bought secondhand from Grant's cousin. I am so super excited to use it, it was exactly what I wanted! I am still trying to think of some names for it...I'll keep thinking, nothing has seem to fit just yet.

Also, pretend that you can't see the mess behind the mannequin...

This photo was suppose to show my makeup, which I was really proud of on Friday night. But the flash kept drowning me out and then I took this one, and I thought it was a nice photo. So there you go, this is what I look like!

So that in a nutshell was my weekend. Lots of uni work, some sewing and not much photo taking. It's my aim this week to try and take some more photos, and start using my DSLR again. I've got into the habit of using my camera photo because it's easier and I always have it. That's my goal, lets see if I can stick to it!
