Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was extremelyyyyyyyyyyyy sewing focused, by the photos it looks like I did nothing but sew! Honestly I was spending a lot of time sewing because I start back at uni tomorrow, and the next four weeks are going to be a rush (three assessments in four weeks, plus two important birthdays and I need to redo my car registration :S)

This dress was finished early on the weekend, it was a practice for the dress that is in the next picture. I really love this fabric, even though I'm not much of a blue fan. I bought it at my favourite op shop ever, three and a half metres for $3.50. You can't beat that.

I had been coveting this fabric for months, literally. I saw it every time I went to buy other fabric, and with an important party coming up I thought it was the perfect time. The pattern is so summery!

I have progressed on this dress more than the pictures show...but I want the finished dress to be sort of a surprise!

Inspired by this post, I attempted my first go at a heart design, sans contact paper with duct tape in it's place. My hearts are quite compact, but worked well. I will definitely do this again in a bigger design and with more colours!

Grant and I also had a small lunch date on Saturday by going to subway (trying to be healthy and save money!). We always get three cookies for $2 and halve them. This time we got raspberry cheesecake and double choc chip. Yum!

Weekend Wrap Up.

Gosh, it’s already Monday afternoon and I haven’t done a weekend update yet! I’ve spent today hurriedly sewing all that I could, because my sewing machine went for a service this afternoon, and isn’t expected back until the weekend at the earliest! Gah, what am I going to do without a sewing machine for 5 days?!

As the photos above show, I spent the majority of the weekend sewing (not much surprise there.) My motivation was high, and so I tried to cram as much work in as I could. Luckily I did because I woke up Sunday sick and spent the day napping. I didn't get anything done of my list, but that's okay. Having a sick day yesterday has pushed back my blogging plans a day or two, not to worry!

The seasons have definitely changed here, a warm breeze has replaced the chilly nights and the windows are all the way open right now. It's shaping up to be a nice spring now.

Weekend Wrap Up.

This weekend was the first weekend of spring. Apart from some chilly nights (as to be expected) the weather was fairly good, nice, sunny and warm through the days!

I spent almost the entire Friday in Everyday Mae world: designing and drafting new patterns for some new bag designs, working on some current bags-in-progress and starting new bags. It was a productive day!

Lately, I've had the feeling that I wanted to paint, and honestly I haven't painted in ages. I used to love painting, it was always my hobby that I would go for first. On Saturday afternoon I made time and worked on some old paintings. It was fun, and I hope to do it again in the next few days!

Overall, it was nice to be able to wear a short sleeve top again and not have to wear so many layers! I am definitely looking forward to the warm weather now!
