Everyday Mae progress

Slowly but surely I have been making some progress with sewing for Everyday Mae. I have been spurred along by the recent purchases in my shop, I feel it is rather empty now and I am trying to get into action to get some new stock in.

I have recently bought a stack of new fabrics and I spent my public holiday working on some new bags. I also have many half finished and waiting for some more spare time to finish them off. I am hoping to have some done to add to the shop on the weekend.

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend I:

Was still super excited about graduating from uni (still waiting on pictures to share) and I was bought these extremely pretty flowers to celebrate!

Made a super easy DIY project..I will share details soon.

Created a donation for a local fundraising effort.

Went fabric shopping for the first time in forever. Thankfully the shop is more organised now and I had a hard time choosing between the fabrics I wanted. This is a good predicament to be in!

I also made my first 'grown up' purchase of a brand new mattress. All the signs are pointing to me being grown up now, but I definitely don't feel old enough to be doing this stuff!

Recent Bags!

I finally got around to photographing and listing some of the bags I have made recently. It felt good to check that off my to-do-list because it has been hanging over me for a good few weeks now. I have some more fantastic fabrics waiting to be used so I expect to have some more bags finished soon!

Also, my shipping prices had to be adjusted due to the recent change in Australia Post shipping costs. I hope I have covered them well enough, but any overcharges in shipping costs will be refunded through paypal!

A quick weekend wrap up.

I guess I haven't fully gotten my blogging schedule back yet...this is pretty obvious because I'm posting about the weekend on a Tuesday! What a weekend it was! I spent time sewing, seeing friends, celebrating St Patrick's day and handmade marketing all day Sunday. So I was very exhausted by the end and just wanted to sleep!

Here are some quick photos I snapped on the weekend, my super large chicken schnitzel that was love heart shaped, pretty flowers out of my bedroom window and my favourite night time tea mug! No photos from the markets sadly, I was busy with set up and customers and then finally pack up. I think I am getting the hang of doing markets (and this was my first one by myself) and I can't wait to do so many more!

Slowly and surely I have been taking some photos of my new house, but it's not fully ready yet to be shown on the blog. It's a fantastic place to live and I'm loving every second of it!

Much love!

New Things..

I find myself gravitating towards 'heavier' materials such as linens these days. I'm not sure why, but I really do love the texture of linen and I find even the basic colours can be paired with other colours and still remain bright and interesting. Black has been finding it's way into more of my work at the present, I do love myself some colour but sometimes it's nice to make things darker. Black does go with everything, and for that I'm grateful! These bags can now be found in the shop.

Happy Birthday Everyday Mae!

I thought it would be very appropriate to look back over the year that was Everyday Mae. Here are some photos on work that I have created over this past year.

This year has been super duper awesome! I really tried hard to put myself out there and do tons of things out of my comfort zone. I'm happy with what I achieved and want to thank everyone.
THANK YOU

To all of my friends, sister and parents who shamelessly promote Everyday Mae to anyone who will listen

To my sister for helping with the first Everyday Mae market stall

To my parents who supported me and who have been encouraging from day one

To Etsy for having an awesome website that allows me to sell my stuff and connect with other likeminded people

And mostly to my customers! I am grateful and humbled by every sale that I get. Here's hoping to an even better second year of Everyday Mae!!!

Everyday Mae Update!

Over Christmas and New Years I took a small break from creating for Everyday Mae. I spent my time catching up with friends and family and I don't regret that for a minute! I'm currently experiencing a lack of productivity and due to some issues in my personal life the amount of product I have been making has not been as much as I would like. It's definitely not a lack of inspiration, I can spent hours pinning things on Pinterest and getting so excited I forget to put on my glasses and the result is an inspiration fuelled headache.

On the upside, I still have been creating and the result is in the photos above. I am working progressively on a few different styles at once so sometimes it feels like I am getting nothing finished when I am actually steadily working. I am hoping to have some of these bags finished and photographed this week. A select few will be put into my Etsy shop, while the others will be kept for a special reason, I will share more details closer to the date!

The Natural Range

I have been working very hard the past few weeks in order to get my inventory up for the past Christmas at Redhead event. In doing so, I designed and created a new range of bags that I have named the Natural Range.

The Natural Range of zipper pouches have been designed with a linen cotton blend and paired with a coordinating cotton base. My aim was to create a subtle range that would pair nicely with a number of things, and overall be very versatile! The pouch is heavily interfaced which results in a study bag with will hold its shape.

I am happy with the way these bags have turned out. I use mine every day in a larger back as an easy way to quickly find my phone and keys. I have also used it as a clutch to attend a friends wedding.

Christmas at Redhead Stall

The weather was perfect on Saturday afternoon for the Christmas at Redhead event! The markets were located in the auditorium and outdoor covered area, and it was such a nice place to have a first market experience! The Everyday Mae stall was outdoor in the under covered area, and conveniently located next to Tinkerbella Fairy Floss! After watching her make fairy floss for hours, Brooke bought a bucket of fairy floss that contained all of the eight different flavours. There was too many to choose, so we got them all! It was the best fairy floss I have ever had.

I wanted to say thanks to all the people that visited my stall, and all the friends that made a special trip down to see me! It was good knowing that people were interested in seeing and buying my goods. Especially thanks goes to my sister, Brooke, who offered to come down and assist myself with the stall. It was definitely good to have someone else there with me, especially for toilet breaks and food runs.

In all, the market exceeded my expectations and gave me confidence in my products and Everyday Mae. One of the other stall holders told me that attending markets can be addictive, and I can definitely see why! I am keeping my eyes out now, and are looking forward to doing a lot more markets in the near future!
