Christmas Weekend

The Christmas weekend for me was a very busy time! I spent Christmas eve helping my mum out at her shop (and it was very busy and full on!) and seeing friends at night. Christmas Day was at my parents house so I was helping with food, cleaning up and socialising. Before I realised, Christmas day was almost over and I had taken no photos! The above photo was the only one I did actually take. My sister and I took the dogs out for a quick drive in the late afternoon and they both loved it.

We also had other family come up and visit on Boxing day and the day after so it was really an extended weekend of family time! It was great to catch up with some family that live further away but also with family that live close who we don't see very much. I was gifted some very lovely things and I felt very spoilt! Half the fun on Christmas day is watching people open their gifts that I have bought for them.

I sort of took a mini holiday from the Internet also...I scheduled some blog posts and was checking my emails very infrequently. It was nice to have some time away, but now I need to get back into the swing of things!

I've been op shopping...

..and look what I found!

Three crocheted blankets of various sizes. One has been put to good use on my computer chair to add some colour;

Numerous cool sheets that are going to be transformed into dresses and other pretty things, maybe with these new patterns;

A vintage tartan suitcase in excellent condition. I acquired this for such a good price, and it is going to be my Australia wide travel bag now;

Another teapot to add to the collection. This has such a cute shape and little bouquets of flowers. Sadly, there is a crack in the handle so this is going to be for display purposes only.

I love days like these!

New Instax!

This year Grant and I decided that because we would be spending Christmas away from each other (both with our families) we'd exchange our gifts early. Part of my gift from Grant was a Instax Mini! I was so excited to receive this, I have wanted a polaroid/instant camera for awhile but I've always had more pressing things to do with my money. After a bit of a noob effort with the first photo (I didn't realise that the first one was the front of the film bit, not an actual photo!) I took my first instant photo of Grant with his birthday cake.

I have already started planning a case for my instax, one that will be padded and cute, and easy to keep in my handbag. I want enough room to keep spare films with the camera and maybe batteries too!

Weekend Wrap Up

Another weekend is almost over, the last weekend before Christmas. I spent my time working on a new project for myself, op shopping, catching up on my Frankie subscription and watching episodes of one of my new favourite shows. I also squeezed in some fruit buying, dinner with friends and the exchange of Christmas gifts with Grant.

It was a chilled out weekend, a nice break from the busy last few weeks. The next week and a half also promises to be busy and stressful as Christmas approaches.

Happy, Happy Birthday Grant! Hope your day was fantastic, even though you didn't spend your vouchers and we mostly drove around to do things for me.

You are a kinda rad boyfriend.

The Natural Range

I have been working very hard the past few weeks in order to get my inventory up for the past Christmas at Redhead event. In doing so, I designed and created a new range of bags that I have named the Natural Range.

The Natural Range of zipper pouches have been designed with a linen cotton blend and paired with a coordinating cotton base. My aim was to create a subtle range that would pair nicely with a number of things, and overall be very versatile! The pouch is heavily interfaced which results in a study bag with will hold its shape.

I am happy with the way these bags have turned out. I use mine every day in a larger back as an easy way to quickly find my phone and keys. I have also used it as a clutch to attend a friends wedding.

Christmas at Redhead Stall

The weather was perfect on Saturday afternoon for the Christmas at Redhead event! The markets were located in the auditorium and outdoor covered area, and it was such a nice place to have a first market experience! The Everyday Mae stall was outdoor in the under covered area, and conveniently located next to Tinkerbella Fairy Floss! After watching her make fairy floss for hours, Brooke bought a bucket of fairy floss that contained all of the eight different flavours. There was too many to choose, so we got them all! It was the best fairy floss I have ever had.

I wanted to say thanks to all the people that visited my stall, and all the friends that made a special trip down to see me! It was good knowing that people were interested in seeing and buying my goods. Especially thanks goes to my sister, Brooke, who offered to come down and assist myself with the stall. It was definitely good to have someone else there with me, especially for toilet breaks and food runs.

In all, the market exceeded my expectations and gave me confidence in my products and Everyday Mae. One of the other stall holders told me that attending markets can be addictive, and I can definitely see why! I am keeping my eyes out now, and are looking forward to doing a lot more markets in the near future!
