Weekend Wrap Up!

The past weekend I spent road tripping up to visit the family and I took a special someone up with me to meet some new people and explore the area.

We spent time trying out some of my favourite places to eat at home and some new places that I haven’t had a chance to see yet. Once of these was a cafĂ© on the top of North Brother mountain, it was so nice and it has the best view of the area. There was also a Mother’s Day breakfast which (most) of the family came too so it was great to catch up with everyone.

I also had to introduce all the animals, and Dudley has definitely found a new favourite person. Some games of fetch were played but mostly he was content to lay in the afternoon sun with us. The cows and other animals are so much bigger than when I last saw them and their winter coats have come in so they are all woolly.

Overall it was such a great weekend. The weather was so fantastic and warm, it was lovely! We even stopped for a short picnic on the drive home which was perfect. I couldn't ask for a better weekend!

Christmas Weekend

The Christmas weekend for me was a very busy time! I spent Christmas eve helping my mum out at her shop (and it was very busy and full on!) and seeing friends at night. Christmas Day was at my parents house so I was helping with food, cleaning up and socialising. Before I realised, Christmas day was almost over and I had taken no photos! The above photo was the only one I did actually take. My sister and I took the dogs out for a quick drive in the late afternoon and they both loved it.

We also had other family come up and visit on Boxing day and the day after so it was really an extended weekend of family time! It was great to catch up with some family that live further away but also with family that live close who we don't see very much. I was gifted some very lovely things and I felt very spoilt! Half the fun on Christmas day is watching people open their gifts that I have bought for them.

I sort of took a mini holiday from the Internet also...I scheduled some blog posts and was checking my emails very infrequently. It was nice to have some time away, but now I need to get back into the swing of things!

A quick trip back home.

I made a quick trip back home last week to re-register my car, and while I was there I took some pictures of Dudley. He was a bit sooky because I had just told him he wouldn't see me for a few weeks. So cute!

Weekend Wrap Up.

This is a late weekend wrap up..but my weekend only *technically* ended this morning when I left my family and travelled back to Newcastle. I am on a mid semester recess for two weeks so I had an extended weekend with the family.

We had a 'working bee' at my sister's house to paint some of her rooms. I didn't get too many photos because I was helping paint (duh). But here is another GIF of my dad painting one of the walls.

I also hit up my favourite op shop and walked away with more than I was expecting. A whole heap of new pretty fabrics, two patterns, a quilting book, handbag handles and a very pretty new jar.

Other things that happened on the weekend included learning to make jam in the microwave with Mum, playing with Dudley and the kittens, and showing my new tattoos to my parents (eek!)

The next few days are going to be very busy, busy! I am reopening the shop today and I have HEAPS of new things planned and cut out ready for me to sew.

Weekend Wrap Up.

This past weekend I made the trip home to see family, get my hair cut and my car fixed! Phew! We spent Saturday working on cleaning up the gardens at the house I grew up (and spent seventeen years living in!). Mum and Dad are currently between tenants so we worked on getting the gardens and yard tidier. This involved having a small fire, which was very hot.

It was strange to be inside the house again. I haven't been in there since we moved out. And gosh it seems so small now. I guess everything seems bigger when you are a kid though! Unfortunately we didn't have the hanging lights (in the above photo) when we lived there, I wish we had because they look really nice.

I also got to play with Dudley and the cats. The cats have grown so much! They are really friendly with Dudley, they don't really know they shouldn't be friends with him. It was quite warm outside in the sun, sometimes it really doesn't feel like winter here.

I've got a busy week ahead now. Working on an assessment that is due next week, some new bags and a few other things!

Weekend Wrap Up.

My weekend was...pretty cool! I went home to mum and dads for a birthday party for an old friend. I managed to squeeze in some beach viewing, playing with animals time and a small spot of fabric shopping.

Playing with this guy. Who really loves...

Nawww
Putting on my falsies!
Birthday party for an old friend. Brooke went as a happy housewife and I (kind of) went as a vintage inspired girl, with my handmade dress and flowers in hair.

I also totally ruined the photo orientation too.

Weekend Wrap Up.

I had a fantastic weekend up at my parents house! I only had access to my phone camera this weekend and truthfully I didn't really take many photos. But here are the ones I did take.

The kittens are so much bigger now!

Dudley was so posing for these photos.

Some other pretties from the yard.

It was nice to spend time away from the computer as well. Access to the Internet is limited at best while I'm at my parents so I either have to use my phone or go without. But now I'm back in Internet land and I think I'm close to catching up with everything.

This week is just going to fly by, I can already feel it. Next weekend my parents and sister are going to visit me in Newcastle! This is a rare event and I'm pretty excited (even though I just spent the weekend with them!)
