A busy weekend indeed.

It was a very busy weekend that has just passed. Finishing off my last assessment (yay), an awesome 21st and a quick road trip to Port Macquarie and back in less than two days! We took Mum out for birthday dinner on Sunday night and then came back to Newcastle this morning. 

These photos were taken on the drive up north. If only I had my camera out to catch the pelting ran, green sky and almost hail that was on Sunday afternoon!

Weekend Wrap Up

I'll spare the boring stories of uni work that was done this weekend, and instead tell the fun things! Time spent visiting friends and new babies, seeing old friends, getting Christmas presents organised, taking some photos, picking up a totally rad vintage suitcase (Thanks Rochelle!) and beginning the cleaning and doing-up process of the vintage suitcase. All with a helper of course! A weekend well spent.

A quick trip back home.

I made a quick trip back home last week to re-register my car, and while I was there I took some pictures of Dudley. He was a bit sooky because I had just told him he wouldn't see me for a few weeks. So cute!

Just some progress..

I found these photos on my camera yesterday. They were taken last weekend (?) when I was very motivated and spent some time cutting out fabric for new bags. With the amount of uni work I have had lately I haven't made any more progress on these sadly.

Weekend Wrap Up

Another busy weekend spent working on uni work. This presentation is due Wednesday afternoon and I have literally spent all day today working on two out of my three pages of drawings. Phew. There is only three weeks left of uni, that's what I keep telling myself.


I managed to squeeze in a quick trip yesterday afternoon to Tea Gardens to visit my sister (who was also visiting someone.) We took the dogs to the beach and had a lovely dinner. It was a welcome distraction from working on my drawings! 


The weekend isn't entirely over yet, but I have put down my drawing pens and I'm about to start dinner. Then I plan to veg on the lounge for the rest of the night, before getting up tomorrow and doing it all over again!

A New Addiction.

I thought I was able to manage my interests with things, to the point that I don't become addicted. Unfortunately I very swiftly became addicted to pinterest on the weekend. It was completely my fault, who knew it would take that least amount of time to get an invitation and then...so many pretty images to pin! 


In the short space of 3ish days I have managed to pin 120 images. BUT I have refrained from visiting the site today in the hope of getting some more uni work done. My boards can be viewed here.

If you hadn't noticed, I have been super busy adding more clutches and purses to the shop in the past two weeks. Here are some pictures of the new items for you to look at!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was extremelyyyyyyyyyyyy sewing focused, by the photos it looks like I did nothing but sew! Honestly I was spending a lot of time sewing because I start back at uni tomorrow, and the next four weeks are going to be a rush (three assessments in four weeks, plus two important birthdays and I need to redo my car registration :S)

This dress was finished early on the weekend, it was a practice for the dress that is in the next picture. I really love this fabric, even though I'm not much of a blue fan. I bought it at my favourite op shop ever, three and a half metres for $3.50. You can't beat that. 

 

I had been coveting this fabric for months, literally. I saw it every time I went to buy other fabric, and with an important party coming up I thought it was the perfect time. The pattern is so summery! 

I have progressed on this dress more than the pictures show...but I want the finished dress to be sort of a surprise! 

Inspired by this post, I attempted my first go at a heart design, sans contact paper with duct tape in it's place. My hearts are quite compact, but worked well. I will definitely do this again in a bigger design and with more colours! 

Grant and I also had a small lunch date on Saturday by going to subway (trying to be healthy and save money!). We always get three cookies for $2 and halve them. This time we got raspberry cheesecake and double choc chip. Yum!
