A New Addiction.

I thought I was able to manage my interests with things, to the point that I don't become addicted. Unfortunately I very swiftly became addicted to pinterest on the weekend. It was completely my fault, who knew it would take that least amount of time to get an invitation and then...so many pretty images to pin! 


In the short space of 3ish days I have managed to pin 120 images. BUT I have refrained from visiting the site today in the hope of getting some more uni work done. My boards can be viewed here.

If you hadn't noticed, I have been super busy adding more clutches and purses to the shop in the past two weeks. Here are some pictures of the new items for you to look at!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was extremelyyyyyyyyyyyy sewing focused, by the photos it looks like I did nothing but sew! Honestly I was spending a lot of time sewing because I start back at uni tomorrow, and the next four weeks are going to be a rush (three assessments in four weeks, plus two important birthdays and I need to redo my car registration :S)

This dress was finished early on the weekend, it was a practice for the dress that is in the next picture. I really love this fabric, even though I'm not much of a blue fan. I bought it at my favourite op shop ever, three and a half metres for $3.50. You can't beat that. 

 

I had been coveting this fabric for months, literally. I saw it every time I went to buy other fabric, and with an important party coming up I thought it was the perfect time. The pattern is so summery! 

I have progressed on this dress more than the pictures show...but I want the finished dress to be sort of a surprise! 

Inspired by this post, I attempted my first go at a heart design, sans contact paper with duct tape in it's place. My hearts are quite compact, but worked well. I will definitely do this again in a bigger design and with more colours! 

Grant and I also had a small lunch date on Saturday by going to subway (trying to be healthy and save money!). We always get three cookies for $2 and halve them. This time we got raspberry cheesecake and double choc chip. Yum!

Monthly Books!

The monthly reading for September was looking a little poor up until a week ago, when I read two more books. So the total of books for September was three, which was my goal that I mentioned here. They weren't exactly thick books...but a book IS a book!

This. Book. Is. Hilarious. I can't remember how many times I've read this book, but it never gets old or boring. I bought this book in LA..when I was 16. It's still relevant to me!

This book was found at my favourite op shop for only $2. It has lots of interesting information about the early days of quilting in the US, lots of photos and even some small patterns in the back of the book. 

I have to admit, I do love watching reality tv shows, and when I can and it's on I do love to watch the Rachel Zoe Project. So when I found this book awhile ago I had to buy it. It's really interesting, it has lots of handy tips and cool illustrations! 


I wonder if I can read another three books for October? (It's not looking hopeful, this is going to be a really busy month..) 

Weekend Wrap Up.

The weather this weekend was terrible, rain, wind and thunder! Although that does make a good combination for staying inside and sewing (which is what I did mostly). Sewing the sash to the front of my first quilt, cutting and sewing up the back of my quilt and realising I don't have enough batting to fill it. There was a fabric shopping trip planned for this afternoon, but the bad weather wasn't inviting and so I postponed it for a better day. 


There was progress made on a few new bags for the shop that are mostly finished, and some work done on some not-so-finished bags. I also spent some time Christmas shopping (!!!) and planning my next personal project after I finish my quilt (I am thinking another cushion cover). Here's hoping for a productive week ahead!
