Quick Quilt Update!

My pretty quilt is coming along! All my rows are now connected, I just need to add the sash around the edges and then the top will be done!

First Quilt Update.

As mentioned before, here are the rest of the pictures of the finished squares of my first quilt! It is only a small collection of them, because there is actually 49 of those bad boys! I thought it would be more of a pain than it actually was to make them up.

Originally the quilt was suppose to be a combination of my two favourite colours, green and yellow (not Australian or anything!) but other colours kept creeping in and now its a sort of mash of colours. But that's fine, I love colour!

I am really looking forward to finishing this quilt and being able to look at it everyday when it's on my bed! =)

Weekend Wrap Up.

This past weekend I:

Made a really quick high-waisted ruffle skirt! (Ignore the terrible photo. I am bad at outfit shots!)

Cut out some more pieces for my first quilt project. I bought these super awesome vintage fat quarters from this shop here.

I also (almost) finished off this dress! I decided to do bias binding around the neckline and arm holes and I was happy with how it turned out, considering I haven't done that before.

A quick visit to the fabric shop today. I got these fabrics, some of which are going to go into my quilt project.

I also started working on my next dress. This is going to be a different design to the last two I've made. I am hoping to get the majority of the sewing finished tomorrow, I am planning on wearing this dress next weekend! Eekk.

I finished off and listed four new bags in the shop over the weekend (I will talk about these in a later post!) Thanks goes to Grant who provided the hand that you can see in the pictures.

I love the look of curls, and so when I found this blog post I knew that I would have to try it out. I left the rags in for longer to make sure my hair was completely dry. When I took them out I had really, really tight ringlets! You can kind of see the result in the first picture. Definitely be doing that again!

That about sums up my weekend!

Inspiration Friday

My organisational skills have been getting better of late. Almost to the degree of obsessive organisation! On any given day my computer screen is full of those sticky notes program (I freaken love this program!) I can have upwards of three or more stickers going on any day with things to do, reminders of important things, overall holiday things to do, etc etc.

I have also been getting obsessive with my book-marking of pages. I think I really need to go through and cull the things that aren't necessary. But one thing that is necessary is my Inspiration Friday folder. Sometimes I bookmark so many things that I need to edit the items I want to post so I don't get overwhelmed with things. Things week's theme was roughly yellowy. I say roughly because it's not strictly yellow only (which is fine because I can do what I want!)
