My New Lovelies.

Yesterday, I got a parcel in the mail. It was so beautifully wrapped that I had to share!

It was my new earrings that I ordered from Roots & Feathers on Etsy. I've absolutely loved Laura's work and the hardest thing for me was picking a favourite! She also has another shop and a pretty cool blog. Check them out!

Weekend Wrap Up.

This weekend was pretty great, but it seemed to go so fast! It's already Sunday night, and almost the start of a new week. At least every week is bringing the holidays closer! The only downside to this weekend was I didn't take many photos, I actually got the last two above from my friend Hayley. Thanks!

I managed to finish off a uni assessment and got some design work done over the weekend. I spent Saturday morning working on a bright new skirt (above) to wear to a fiesta themed party that night! I'm so happy with how the skirt turned out (I don't have a better picture then that but) and I actually wore it again today. That's not gross, I swear! When I turned up at the party, my friend had the exact same fabric in a poncho! Grant also got his fiesta on with a sombrero that his sister got in Mexico, and a poncho from Mexico too!

Today Grant and I hung out with some friends that we haven't seen in ages. They are about to have a baby in a few weeks and it will probably be the last time we see them before the baby is born. I'm so excited for them! Eek!

Here is a new clutch that I listed in the shop a few days ago! Such a pretty fabric and pattern..I really like it! Luckily there is some fabric leftover that I'm going to keep for myself!

Recap: 25 Things before 2012.

So I thought it about time to do a recap of this post! It's been more than four months (if I counted right!) since I sat down and wrote this list. Surprisingly, I have been able to check a few off since then, and have been making steady progress on the ones that will take longer to complete. So, here is the revised list, showing the ones I've done!

So the 25 things I want to do before 2012 are...

1. Graduate from my bachelors degree, apply to do masters
2. Buy a set of Russian babushka dolls
3. Save money for ski trip to New Zealand in July
4. Save money after NZ (try to get bank account to $2000!)
5. Read at least a book a month (if not more)
6. Frame own illustrations and hang on wall
7. Go on a roadtrip with my sister
8. Have a rocking 21st party
9. Make my first quilt
10. Finish previously started projects:
-White scarf
-Autumn cushion cover
11. Get a tattoo for my birthday
12. Plant some colourful flowers in pots
13. Do enough yoga that I become more flexible again
14. Learn how to make really cool renders on Photoshop
15. Practice Italian again
16. Buy my own perfume
17. Create and sew a really nice dress pattern
18. Go second hand bookshopping (and cross some books of the shopping list)
19. Clean out old stuff at mum and dads
20. Take my sister to estabar cafe in Newcastle
21. Go to an art show/gallery opening
22. Learn how to make different types of origami
23 Buy a self help book
24. Take a crafty/arty class
25. Make a baked dinner for the family

Now that I can see the list again, I really haven't done as many as I thought...but technically some can't really be finished until the end of the year (a book a month?) so I'm still making progress on them! And some I have already lined up to do when I am not swamped with uni work (hello craft class!)

Weekend Wrap Up.

This past weekend I made the trip home to see family, get my hair cut and my car fixed! Phew! We spent Saturday working on cleaning up the gardens at the house I grew up (and spent seventeen years living in!). Mum and Dad are currently between tenants so we worked on getting the gardens and yard tidier. This involved having a small fire, which was very hot.

It was strange to be inside the house again. I haven't been in there since we moved out. And gosh it seems so small now. I guess everything seems bigger when you are a kid though! Unfortunately we didn't have the hanging lights (in the above photo) when we lived there, I wish we had because they look really nice.

I also got to play with Dudley and the cats. The cats have grown so much! They are really friendly with Dudley, they don't really know they shouldn't be friends with him. It was quite warm outside in the sun, sometimes it really doesn't feel like winter here.

I've got a busy week ahead now. Working on an assessment that is due next week, some new bags and a few other things!
