New fun stuff.

Gosh its been four days already since I last blogged. The time definitely does fly.

I've spent most of this week finishing off an assessment that I have to present tomorrow. Poo. I hate presenting, and will be glad when it's over. I am really happy with my work but, so that is a good thing! Nothing worse then knowing your work is shit, but trying to pretend it is awesome.

So I took today as a breather from uni work and did something fun! I worked on a new bag design and redesigned my business cards! Yay.

I designed a cute purse with two pleats in it! I am in love, and I think I will make one for myself. These are 'in progress' snaps, the real and better photos will come soon! I am hoping to have this cute bag above and another one I have been working on listed in the shop by the weekend.

And these are my new business cards! I secretly have been loving vertical business cards for awhile. So I finally manned up and did them. Gosh they are pretty.

Oh whoops, how did that get there? =)

25 Things before 2012.

Okay, so I can't exactly claim this idea as mine. I found it over at on this page of this awesome blog. But because my birthday is only in three months (yay) then I thought it might be too hard to do 21 things before I turn 21. So I adapted the idea a bit and made it into '25 Things to do before 2012'.

So the 25 things I want to do before 2012 are...

1. Graduate from my bachelors degree, apply to do masters
2. Buy a set of Russian babushka dolls
3. Save money for ski trip to New Zealand in July
4. Save money after NZ (try to get bank account to $2000!)
5. Read at least a book a month (if not more)
6. Frame own illustrations and hang on wall
7. Go on a roadtrip with my sister
8. Have a rocking 21st party
9. Make my first quilt
10. Finish previously started projects:
-White scarf
-Autumn cushion cover
11. Get a tattoo for my birthday
12. Plant some colourful flowers in pots
13. Do enough yoga that I become more flexible again
14. Learn how to make really cool renders on Photoshop
15. Practice Italian again
16. Buy my own perfume
17. Create and sew a really nice dress pattern
18. Go second hand bookshopping (and cross some books of the shopping list)
19. Clean out old stuff at mum and dads
20. Take my sister to estabar cafe in Newcastle
21. Go to an art show/gallery opening
22. Learn how to make different types of origami
23 Buy a self help book
24. Take a crafty/arty class
25. Make a baked dinner for the family

I am hoping to get everything of this list done. Some of the items will take more than one sitting to finish, so I've put the ones in italics as the 'in progress' ones. Most of the things on my list are for my personal life, but a few are for my uni life (photoshop renders for my presentations, etc).

Gosh I am going to be busy =)

So that is my list. What do you think?

Op Shopping, Aw Yeah.

I had an awesome morning of op shopping today. And a less awesome afternoon of uni work. But let's focus on the happy!

I went out of my comfort zone today, and went op shopping by myself in Newcastle. I have only ever done it with other people in Newcastle, but I've done it alone back in my hometown.

And I really enjoyed it! I hit up five different shops in under an hour, all within walking distance of where I parked my car. I had no expectations, so I was really happy when in the first shop I found two things! I saw a lot of things that I liked, but not really loved. I didn't want to buy things for the sake of buying either.

Here is what I bought!

These boots are so yummy! I don't have a brown pair of boots, so this was a good find. They are a tad to big, but with a pair of socks (or tights) they will be fine!

A really pretty dress! Absolutely loved the patterns and colours on this one. The straps need to be adjusted, but no biggie.

Ahh sportsgirl. I love the brand, but most of their stuff is out of my price range. Which sucks. But I managed to find this red cardigan today. Anyone would tell you that I love a good cardi, and its true! I am trying to add more colour into my wardrobe too so this was perfect.

I needed a lightweight jacket that I could wear in Autumn, so when I found this I was happy. It was only five bucks, and its a Witchery jacket! Gosh. There was a few small marks around the shoulders, but I will be able to get them out.

After that I did some boring uni work on the computer, cooked a quick dinner for the boyfriend and I, and now I am planning to do some more bag designing.

That pretty much sums up my day!

New Bags in the Shop.

I have been working on these two bags for a few days. They turned out so pretty! I especially love the red heart/yellow background fabric. Pop over and check them out in the shop here

In other news I finished one of my reports for uni, yay! Which means that there is one less stress to worry about for the next week and a half. I still have another two assessments to complete in the next two weeks, and if I can remember correctly, maybe three more before Easter break? It just seems like its never ending!

Onto a prettier side of things, the rose bushes at our house are in full bloom! I'm no expert, but the colours are a combination of white, pink and white/pink. I picked some and put them into a vase in my studio room. I hope they last a while, they are so pretty to look at!

Custom Bag Finished.

Custom bag for my sister (Brooke) finished today. I'm very happy with how it turned out, and I hope she likes it!

Now that order is done, I can work on some more bags for the shop!

=)

Sigh.

Sigh.
It's already Sunday night, which means I only have one day before I start the uni week. Gah.

I know I shouldn't complain, considering I am only actually in class Tuesday-Thursdays which is a pretty awesome timetable. But I do a lot of work outside of class, and it seems to have eaten up my weekend!

Saturday was spent hanging out with my brother who drove 2 hours south to visit me and another of his friends in Newcastle. We went to a second hand bookshop, antique furniture shopping and then out to lunch, and it was soo yummy. By then most of the other op shops had closed for the afternoon! =(

Then I spent today working on a silly construction report that I am hoping to finish in the next few days so I can start another report that is due in a few weeks. On the upside I did get to do some hand sewing on my sister's custom bag, its almost finished! Just another hour or so tomorrow and it should be done. Then I can work on adding some more bags to the shop! (Around uni work that is.)

The weather is getting very nice, the afternoons are starting to get a bit chilly. Bring on winter! I can't wait for it to get cold, I'm so excited to wear my new hat that I bought a few weeks ago.

So cute!

I bought it at this awesome shop

I love it so much! =)
