Weekend Wrap Up.

This weekend was the first weekend of spring. Apart from some chilly nights (as to be expected) the weather was fairly good, nice, sunny and warm through the days!

I spent almost the entire Friday in Everyday Mae world: designing and drafting new patterns for some new bag designs, working on some current bags-in-progress and starting new bags. It was a productive day!

Lately, I've had the feeling that I wanted to paint, and honestly I haven't painted in ages. I used to love painting, it was always my hobby that I would go for first. On Saturday afternoon I made time and worked on some old paintings. It was fun, and I hope to do it again in the next few days!

Overall, it was nice to be able to wear a short sleeve top again and not have to wear so many layers! I am definitely looking forward to the warm weather now!

Monthly Books!

Okay, so in the last monthly books post I talked about wanting to read at least three books in August? Well, I actually did it! And not like I hurriedly finished a book last night, no I finished the third book probably a week ago! (So I could have easily started a new one, but I haven't yet.)

This month I read:

I can't remember where I got this book, but it has been staring me down from the bookshelf for a while, so I thought I might as well read it. It was hard to get into, but once I was there I wanted to keep reading! It was written in the early 1960's so the facts were outdated, but it was definitely interesting!

This was a very lucky op shop find. I was in my favourite op shop and I don't normally look at the books (I don't know why?) and this was sitting on the top of the bookshelf. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to buy it and at only $2 it was a bargain! It didn't take me long to read, and I remember studying some of the paintings in art in year 12.

This book was recommended by Grant's mum, and it was awesome! They have just moved back from Saudi Arabia to Australia. I never thought to explore their bookshelf, but I'm glad I did and read this book! It was not at all what I expected. I started the book and immediately wanted to finish it in the same sitting. (I didn't though, but it's nice to be that into a book!)

Lets see if I can read another three books in September!

The Lack of Communication..

There has been a lack of blog posting lately. So far, this week has been very full on! Finishing of an assessment for presentation later this week has taken up most of the last few days.

But now I'm finished, and waiting to do my presentation, I can work on other things! I started this dress last night. It's not an ambitious pattern, and I have done a fair amount of it so far. I'm looking forward to wearing this one on the weekend (if not earlier!)

And then I will promise to blog more!

Weekend Wrap Up: The Making of a Design Model

I spent the majority of the weekend working on a design model that is due this week. I’m happy to say that I finished the model with time to spare, and now I’m enjoying the rest of my night off! But I didn’t rush it, and I'm proud of my work.

I took photos to document the making of the model. All of the photos, (with the exception of the first two) were taken today. Look at my progress!

I also got my second tattoo this weekend! Oh my gosh I love it so much! I’ll share some better pictures once it’s finished healing.

Today Was a Good Day.

Today was a good day. It was extremely sunny and warm (almost spring) and I spent the day working on a custom order. My biggest one to date! I'm having so much fun!
